It’s like a horror movie, but in real life.
Giant, “mutant” rats…and we mean 2 feet long…are scurrying all over NHS hospitals in the U.K., giving rise to fears the R.O.U.S.’s (Rodents Of Unusual Size, for those who haven’t seen “The Princess Bride”) “will gnaw through lifesaving equipment or infect vital medical supplies.”
Experts found the giant rats at hospitals run by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. They have received visits from exterminators 72 times in the last year.
The Daily Star reports “The mutants are twice as big as normal rats and cannot be killed with traditional poisons. Earlier this year an army of 2ft long beasts invaded Swindon. And in April, a 2ft long rat was captured in Cornwall.”
Sleep well tonight, my lovelies.
