AKT is a design company that makes jewelry from destroyed weapons. The jewelry is bold, creative and stunning! AKT’s jewelry begins in war torn nations all over the world. The Swiss Foundation for Mine Action collects and destroys firearms and ships them to the AKT facility near Geneva.
The pieces are melted down in a laboratory, then cast into their new shape. Each element is carefully handcrafted until the whole piece is perfectly realized in its new purpose. The result is a symbol of the world before war, and a promise to bring life back to the parts of it which are seeing too much death.
AKT believes transforming weapons into life saving surgical operations turns each ring, bracelet, and necklace is a stride towards a more peaceful tomorrow.
Check out their pieces and how they do it.
